The Data Science Institute (DSI) is an interdisciplinary institute established to foster the study of data science and new forms of data with a focus on their social, economic and political aspects.

We are looking for a part-time researcher to work on the (De)constructing health & well-being through data project, a collaboration between LSE DSI, LSE Cities, Ordnance Survey, and the NHS. The work will be focused on data collection and analysis under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. The project is focused on the relationship between the physical environment and health and well-being. It will entail a literature review, the creation of online surveys and in-person/virtual interviews. The successful candidate will explore the data collected into their constituent parts, analyse them, and identify the interrelationships between different dimensions – through systems thinking and network analysis.

Candidates should have completed, or be completing, a postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., urban studies, health, data science). We are looking for candidates with a strong background in systemic thinking and network analysis, that have experience in analysing complex systems and networks, including the ability to map out and analyse relationships between different elements. Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to collect and analyse data, identify trends and patterns, and use this information to inform decision-making are essential

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
